What are the Most Popular Aesthetic treatments for women

We explore the UK’d most popular aesthetic treatments

As part of my own development as an aesthetics practitioner, I researched the most common aesthetic procedures for women and thought I’d share it on my blog.

The information I found is based on a general consensus of trends in the aesthetic and cosmetic industry, drawn from a variety of industry reports, surveys, and professional observations. Specifically, these trends are frequently reported by organizations such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and various cosmetic surgery and dermatology journals.

These sources regularly publish data on the most popular procedures for both men and women, often based on annual surveys of cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists. Additionally, trends can be observed in reports from market research firms that specialize in the beauty and aesthetics industry.

For the most up-to-date and specific statistics, accessing these organizations’ annual reports or publications would provide detailed breakdowns of the popularity of different procedures or you can just read the results right here, right now.

The most requested aesthetic treatments for women vary depending on trends, age, and specific concerns, but the following are consistently popular:

1. Botox

: Botox remains the most popular aesthetic treatment among women. It is commonly used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, particularly on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (frown lines).

2. Dermal Fillers

:: Dermal fillers are highly sought after for adding volume to the face, enhancing features like the lips, cheeks, and jawline, and smoothing out wrinkles and folds. Popular areas include the nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

3. Lip Augmentation:

Lip fillers have become increasingly popular, especially with younger women, seeking fuller, more defined lips.

4. Facial Rejuvenation:

Treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, and laser resurfacing are commonly requested to improve skin texture, tone, and overall radiance.

5. Non-Surgical Fat Reduction (CoolSculpting): Similar to men, many women opt for non-surgical fat reduction treatments like CoolSculpting to target stubborn fat in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and love handles.

6. Breast Augmentation: Surgical procedures like breast augmentation remain one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries for women seeking to enhance their bust size and shape. However, these require general aenesthetic and hospitalisation so are somewhat different to the other procedures listed.

7. Laser Hair Removal: Laser hair removal is frequently requested by women looking to permanently reduce hair growth, particularly in areas like the legs, bikini line, and underarms.

8. Skin Tightening Treatments: Non-invasive treatments like radiofrequency or ultrasound-based therapies are popular for tightening loose skin, especially around the face, neck, and jawline.

These treatments reflect the diverse range of aesthetic concerns women address, from facial enhancements to body contouring and skin care. However what is of note is the evoloution of non-invasive treatments. Traditionally, most cosmetic treatments were the domain of plastic surgeons and accessible to few due to their costs and potential risk of complications.

However, today, the majority of treatments are so called non-invasive treatments. They are cheaper, safer and more accessable to the general population.

Democratising high end beauty and welfare treatments is really exciting, and I for one cant wait to see what the future holds.

Nurse Aesthetics Specialist

Buyer Beware.

Having a trained nurse administer aesthetic treatments offers significant benefits over a beautician, primarily due to their extensive medical knowledge and clinical expertise. Nurses are trained in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, enabling them to understand the complexities of facial structures and how treatments like Botox, fillers, or microneedling interact with the body.

  • Medically Registered professionals are accountable for the medication given to you . They can’t administer fake or imitation Botux products – an increasingly frequent problem
  • Medically qualified professionals are better trained and better able to prevent or cope with rare adverse reactions should they ever occur
  • Medically qualified professionals are held to the highest levels of professional accountability for their practice and any products they use. The aesthetics industry as a whole is completely unregulated.
  • Medically qualified professionals are better trained meaning better results, safer processes and longer-lasting treatments

For peace of mind and the best possible experience always used a Registered Medical Practitioner for your aesthetic injectibles.
